How Minor Cannabinoids are Made: Synthetic vs Biosynthetic ft. Shane Johnson
Synthesis, a process that may sound complex, is actually quite common in our daily lives. From the production of everyday items like Advil, organic milk, citric acid, to the creation of vitamins A and D, and multivitamins, synthesis is a key player. Why does this realization often provoke a negative reaction? Perhaps it's because there's a desire for clean, safe, and consistent natural products, especially when they originate from plants. Surprisingly, synthesis enhances our ability to deliver such products. This week, we're joined by Shane Johnson to delve into the following topics: • How minors are manufactured, synthetic vs. biosynthetic • Upcoming Minors to keep an eye on • Novel APIs & Analogs 00:00 Special Guest Shane Johnson on Dimes Podcast with Brian Fields and Kellan Finney 00:06 Exploring the Future of Manufacturing with Shane Johnson from BayMedica 03:07 Revolutionizing Medicine: The Impact of Modern Cannabinoid Manufacturing on Healthcare 07:11 The Future of Cannabinoid Manufacturing and Regulation in the Medical Industry 10:57 Unlocking the Potential of Synthesizing Plant Chemicals for Therapeutic Benefits 14:42 Creating Stability in Cannabinoid Production: The Key to Consistent Consumer Experience 24:31 Unraveling the Complexities of Cannabinoids and Personal Physiology in Research 28:23 Unveiling the Future of Western Medicine: A Focus on Pure Compounds and Cannabinoids 32:02 Exploring the Use of Cannabinoids as Diluents in Vape Products and Pharmaceutical Development 35:47 Uncovering Exciting Minor Cannabinoids: CBC and THCV 40:09 Innovative Manufacturing and Research in Cannabinoids Industry 45:30 The Cost of Cannabinoids: Lessons in Market Dynamics and Pricing 49:05 Unlocking Personalized Cannabinoid Formulations: A Future Dream in Pharmaceutical Industry About Dr. Shane Johnson Dr. Shane Johnson’s career has focused principally on offering strategic business advisory services to companies in the biotechnology and healthcare sectors.
